EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT

Kelsey identified the need to diversify and grow the funding stream for OneSight, an international vision care nonprofit. Recognizing an opportunity with Luxottica’s obsolete product, Kelsey took the initiative and toured Luxottica’s manufacturing centers. She learned that millions of glasses were being destroyed due to obsolete policies and quickly identified an opportunity to resell obsolete glasses to generate revenue.

She pitched a long-term vision and gained buy-in from Luxottica executives across North America, from manufacturing to asset protection to distribution to retail to wholesale departments.

She then employed her strategic communications expertise and operational acumen to create a programmatic manual, communications plans and protocols that were utilized by more than 2,000 employees.

Under her management, the program continued to generate an average of $1.3 million annually, growing to nearly $2 million by 2019, becoming one of the nonprofit’s largest sources of revenue. It was deemed an exemplary model of success for engagement and retention of employees by Luxottica.
